CONTINUOUS OPERATION AND FLOW OF ACETYLENE GAS
Our Acetylene Generator is a “Continuous Flow” type. When the carbide contents of the hopper are exhausted, (the other hopper automatically goes into operation, carrying the load) the empty hopper can be refilled during the time the gas in the generator is being used.
In this way continuous service is maintained conveniently and safely. No shutdown operations at recharging period means that you save both labour and time. The Generator may be started or stopped as and when required.
NO NEED FOR ACETYLENE GAS HOLDER
Our Acetylene Generator operates at a medium pressure-any desired pressure up to 1.5 Kg/cm2, which is sufficient to supply your acetylene adequately, and safely through your pipeline system and/ or to your charging manifolds for filling cylinders.
NO VENTING OF ACETYLENE GAS FROM THE TANK TO THE ATMOSPHERE
Generally no odor of acetylene is found around our acetylene generator or compressing plant. This means safety, economy in operations and greater profits. There is no venting of acetylene from the generator tank at recharging periods. After all, acetylene vented to the atmosphere cannot be used or sold and such waste amounts to a lower yield of usable acetylene, to say nothing of the importance as safety. With our acetylene generator no acetylene-air mixture need be purged after the initial charge. The hazards of pulling acetylene-air mixtures into your system are thus eliminated.

AUTOMATIC THERMOSTATIC WATER INLET RESIDUE OUTLET
Water inlet meter measures accurately the amount of water to be admitted to the tank at all times. Residue drain valve is controlled by a water level device that maintains a constant water level automatically. Water is metered into the tank while the generator is in operation and residue is discharged simultaneously by means of pre-set automatic thermostatic controls.
RESIDUE KEPT IN SUSPENSION AUTOMATICALLY
The motor driven agitator keeps the residue in suspension at all times automatically, providing greater acetylene yields and purity, convenience in operations, as well as safety.
AUTOMATED, RELABLE ACETYLENE PLANT
Our D/A/ series Acetylene plants are equipped with extremely simplified, effective controls that tend to fail-safe. The temperature signaling safety instrument controls the high water signal, the low water signal, and the high temperature alarm. These controls are mounted on a most accessible instrument panel, attached to the generator.
SCREW FEED MECHANISM OPERATES AUTOMATICALLY IN THE GENERATOR
Carbide feedings is automatic in relation to acetylene demands. When the screw feed motor stops the carbide feeding, the spring-loaded carbide valve closes pressure tight instantly. This seals off the carbide supply from tank moisture, maintaining a dry atmosphere at all times in the screw feed tube, and within the carbide feeding mechanism The hydraulic cylinder holds the carbide valve open while the screw feed mechanism is in operation.
UNIFLOW VALVE CUM FLASH BACK ARRESTOR (optional) IN FILLING MANIFOLD OF ACETYLENE PLANT
PIGTAILS FOR EVERY CYLINDER UNDER FILLING. This valve is of unique design acting as a flash back arrestor as well as non-return valve. This prevents any flash back of acetylene reaching the cylinder under filling or under discharge. Acts as a safety valve in case of pressure and temperature going over safety limit. This valve is an essential requirement for making the filling or discharge of cylinders safe from all hazards.

STATIONARY CARBIDE TO WATER TYPE

The Acetylene Generator offered by us is having automatic pressure, temperature, water level, slurry and agitation control.
As and when pressure of Acetylene Gas inside generator fall due to off take of Acetylene, automatic pressure control switches ‘ON’ the carbide feed motor to put more carbide in water to generate more acetylene. Depending on off take of gas the generator pressure shall increase when the pressure controller shall disconnect the carbide feed motor and stop further addition of carbide of water and thus stop further generation of Acetylene gas.
Due to reaction of carbide with water, there will be rise in temperature of the whole generator including water/slurry contained in it. When the temperature rises to the set limit, main process water valve shall open automatically to bring in more water, which will bring the temperature of generator down.
WATER LEVEL/SLURRY CONTROL
Due to addition of water inside the generator by the temperature controller, water level inside generator shall rise and as soon as the level reaches the set limit, the slurry discharge valve shall automatically open and discharge slurry. As soon as level of water/slurry shall come down below the set limit, this discharge valve shall close automatically and no more slurry shall be discharge.
Automatic electric motor driven agitator shall agitate the water-carbide mixture inside the generator for thorough mixing and complete reaction of carbide. When the carbide feed motor is under operation, the agitator also starts operating. But when the carbide feed motor is not working and carbide is not being fed, the agitator motor continues to operate through a timer at present intervals so that slurry inside generator remain mixed with water and do not deposit at the bottom of generator forming a hard crust reducing generator volume and fouling the agitator.
TWIN HOPPER FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATION OF ACETYLENE PLANT
Generator is provided with twin hopper so that when one hopper is under operation, the other empty hopper can be filled, thus allowing continuous operation of generation.
